01_03 Daniel 7 Repeats Daniel 2

At the end of the Kingdom of Babylon, in the reign of its last king, Belshazzar, Daniel received another great vision. The whole of chaper 7 of Daniel, repeats the time-line of Daniel 2, but adds details, which required new illustrations. Instead of the 4 metals, denoting 4 kingdoms of the whole known world, at each of their times, 4 great beasts illustrate the same 4 kingdoms.

Great Babylon is illustrated by a lion, the king of the beasts, here with great wings of an eagle. Then, its wings were plucked, and it was made to stand upon its feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. [remember, in Daniel 2, the metal head of the image (gold) represented the king Nebuchadnezzar himself], as does this ‘beast’ illustration. Its wings describe the speed of its growth into an all-known-world kingdom.

The next ‘beast’ described in Daniel 7, is a bear, raised up on one side, denoting a combination of two kingdoms, which overthrew Great Babylon, one of which was the greater of the two. This illustrated the kingdoms of the Medes and of the Persians, the latter becoming the greater. Further, the bear had three ribs in its mouth. History reveals that they represented the three provinces of Babylon (Babylon’s own province, and those of Lydia, and of Egypt).

The third ‘beast’ described in Daniel 7, is a leopard, which had 4 wings on it back, which, compared to the two wings on the lion, signify the unprecedented speed of its growth into an even greater sized all-known-world kingdom. This illustrated the kingdom of Alexander the Great, the kingdom of Greece.                                                                                                                        This leopard ‘beast’ also had four heads. The Grecian empire maintained its unity little longer than the life time of Alexander, and was soon divided among his four leading generals (signified by the four heads).

The fourth, and final ‘beast,’ signifying Rome (there would be only these four great kingdoms of the whole known world, as illustrated by the metalic image in Daniel 2) was so formidable that Daniel could only describe it. He had never seen this kind of animal. I believe it might be the pre-historic Triceratops, a rhinoserous looking (and acting, as you will see) animal, with a large shield around its neck, behind its head. It had great iron teeth (which identifies it with the Roman metal of Daniel 2’s Image) and it “…stamped the residue,” that it didn’t devour, with its feet. [As revealed by a movie produced in Africa, a  rhinoseros will stamp out a campfire with its feet! Apparently, it makes itself a fire-fighter when it sees a small fire!]                                                                                                                                                  This fourth ‘beast’ had 10 horns, but subsequently, three of them were plucked up by the rise to power of a ‘little horn.’ Horns, added to a ‘beast,’ (see v. 24) refer to smaller kingdoms that are added to the ‘beast.’ As I read the description of this beast, by Daniel, I see 7 horns added to the edge of its shield behind its head, and 3 (making ten) upon its forehead. These 3, according to the text, are plucked up by the roots, and replaced, by the little horn that had eyes and a mouth speaking ‘great things.’ This is exceedingly important added information, as it refers to the diverse (different) – religio-political king – that began to rule all of Europe! The emperor of Rome, Constantine, in 330 A.D., moved his capital from Rome to Constantinople (Istanbul today), between the Black and Caspian seas, and left all of Europe to the administration of the Pope of Rome! Pope Urban, in 800 A.D., became the literal emperor of what became called, The Holy Roman Empire (of all of Europe). Thus, the ‘little horn’ developed into the ‘beast’ (still a Roman ‘beast’) of Rev. 13:1, 2.

The domination of Europe, for 1260 years, by the Pope, was interrupted, by a “mortal wound,” according to Rev. 13:3, “…at the time of the end,” – Daniel 11:40 (parallel to Rev. 13:3). But his “mortal wound” began to be healed, when Mussolini gave him a kingdom in a part of the city of Rome (in exchange for financial support of Mussolini’s fascist movement). Then, allied with Hitler, the Pope was becoming a great king (a ‘beast’) once more. The Pope is now, once again, a religious power allying itself with super-rich political powers, in hope of ruling the world (in a New World Order) not just Europe (as he did in the Dark Ages). Watch out!!  Prophecy is given to us, by God, to help us be aware of Satan’s plans to destroy the people whom God has Created to have dominion of the earth – true followers of God, who “…keep the Commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus!” (Revelation 12:17). Carefully study this text, and see the definition of the words “testimony of Jesus,” in Revelation 1:1, 2.  In this final war, by Satan, against the true, Bible-believing people of God,  Jesus will WIN,  for, “…they that are with Him, are called, and chosen, and faithful!” Revelation 17: 11 – 14. NOTE: In this text, ten NEW horn-powers (the number 10 signifies completeness) join the ‘beast,’ telling us that all of the kingdoms of the whole earth, will ally themselves against God’s believing people.

Again, Jesus will WIN, for, “…they that are with Him, are called, and chosen, and faithful!”                                               Halleluyah!!
