Introduction to Chapter 3

We begin this Chapter with #03_01, The End Time Message, which is a review of what we must learn from the first two Chapters. Test your understanding and your recall of these most important prophecies of Jesus. Again I say, that the knowledge of these prophecies and their historical fulfillments is critical to all of your growth in the spiritual realm of your life from this point forward. They are the DOOR to the heavenly realm, opened by God Himself.

Review them again and again until they are familiar.

Our subject is: The End-Time Message

The Scripture Text for this study is: Revelation 14:8 (read)

In this seminar series we are learning our end time Message. It is what we will call “Present Truth.” In the first part of our series, we first saw that the three signs Jesus gave, that tell us that He is very soon to return in the Second Coming, have already occurred in the 17 and 18 hundreds, right on time with the beginning of the “time of the end.” Do you really get it? Jesus is going to return soon!
Get ready now!

Then we went through the mechanics of figuring out the 2300 day prophecy, which ends in 1844, at the beginning of “the hour of His Judgment,” which ties this prophecy to our end time Message, the Three Angel Messages:

“…For the hour of His Judgment is come!” Revelation 14:7.

Just at this point, I have a few questions for you, to see if you had your eyes opened by Holy Spirit to catch the important details in regard to our Message.

Here we go: What method of Bible Study unsealed the book of Daniel? (line upon line). What text is that found in? (Isaiah 28:9 and 10, only in the KJV.) That method revealed that for time prophecies, a prophetic “day” is: (a year).

Now: besides the paper with the bar graphs that help us do the math for the 2300 days prophecy, I gave you another paper regarding what should be understood from the 2300 day prophecy (-the time line graphic).

The first part, the 70 weeks in reference to the Jewish people, led to three great events being revealed: The 69 weeks of the 70 led unto: (Messiah – Jesus!)

Second, what event happened in the middle of that 70th week? (Jesus was crucified – “cut off” – buried and resurrected.)

What event happened at the end of the 70th week? (Was it not the Judgment of the Jewish Church? Weren’t they found unworthy to be any longer God’s chosen people to reveal the gospel and the kingdom? Didn’t they seal their own fate by stoning Stephen, thereby rejecting the message that Messiah had come in the person of Jesus, whom they had crucified?) The execution of that Judgment came in 70 A.D. with the desolation of all of Judea.

With that answer in mind, what event happened at the end of the 2300 days, in 1844? (Wasn’t it the Judgment of the Christian churches? The second angel’s message tells us that they too are fallen!)

All three of these messages began when “the hour of His Judgment is come!” which makes these three messages “Present Truth!”

The next subject applied the 1260 day prophecy.

What important part of our message is revealed by the 1260 day prophecy? (The “man of sin” was revealed, further showing that Jesus is soon to come!) When the Papacy was “taken out of the way” in 1798, exactly 1260 years after he became pope, by decree of Roman Emperor Justinian, the “man of sin” was revealed to be the Papacy, up through 1260 years of persecution of true Christians! Cement in your memory that He was decreed “the corrector of heretics!” by the Emperor.

What is his greatest sin? (He thought to change the very Commandments of God!!)

Which Commandment did he remove from the Ten Commandments? (The Second) …which warns against making idols (“images”) and bowing down and worshipping them. What is his image that he set up for the people to worship?

(MARY!)

Does that fact have anything to do with the Three Angel Messages of Rev. 14? “…If any man worship the “beast” and his “image”…” – verse 9!

Which Commandment did the Papacy change? (The Fourth: which is the very seal of God!)

A year-for-a-“day” is the discovery that unsealed the time prophecies of both Daniel and Revelation. The 1260 day prophecy revealed that the Papacy is the “man of sin.” Also, the Papacy is the ” little horn” power of Daniel, and the “beast” of Rev.13! What is   the connecting link? “…they shall be given into his hand until – a time, times, and the dividing of time” – 1260 days. Daniel 7:25, compared with Revelation 12, verses 6 and 14; also, “…and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months” – 42 months, times 30 days-to-a-month – 1260 days! Rev.13:5. Same power, now having developed into a “beast” instead of “the Little Horn.”

Connected with the claims of the Bible itself, we studied the roots of the bearers of the “Present Truth” as the Remnant Church, with the Three Angel Messages to preach to the world, including even Christianity.

In that history, we learned that “line upon line” is truly Holy Spirit’s prescription for effective Bible study. Through it, an ordinary man, like any one of us, was able to unseal the great time prophecies of the Bible!

Holy Spirit taught William Miller to use this “line upon line” Bible study method right on time so that the Great Awakening could happen in 1843, according to the 1335 day prophecy in Daniel 12:12!

God was behind the whole movement. It was time to reveal that the Judgment Hour was come upon the world! God had accomplished the Papacy’s being “taken out of the way” in 1798, exactly on time for the 1260 day prophecy! The Papacy was “taken out of the way,” so that the Bible could be freely distributed and given back to the people – people like William Miller… people like you and I!

And thus, the Present Truth of the Three Angel Messages was brought to the Movement – “…the hour of His Judgment is come!”

The history of the proclamation of the first angel message, and its rejection, leading to the proclamation of the second angel message, really shows that the Judgment of the Christian churches arrived right on time too! “Babylon is fallen, is fallen!” was proclaimed against all of the Christian Churches, Catholic and Protestant. The Papacy is the “man of sin,” and the Papal system is Babylon the Great: but also, the Protestant “daughters” of “Babylon the Great, Mother of harlots,” were fallen too! The “Adventists” called to them, in the name of Jesus,

“Come out of her, My people!”

Next, God revealed to them the great sin of the “man of sin.” He had changed the Fourth Commandment, which fact they [Advent believers] didn’t even know until after the 1844 date passed! Again, Holy Spirit is the one we have to give the praise to for directing events so that it was discovered! Thus the Third Angel’s Message came into place in the movement that God had set up.

We are “the people of the Book.” We are the people who are to re-establish the Law of God – especially the Sabbath Commandment, as well as the Second Commandment. [Don’t forget that one!] We are the reformers of the last days!

The Angel Messages say,

“…worship Him who made heaven and earth…” and, “…if any man worship “the beast,” and his “image,” and receive his “mark” in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God!…” “Here is the patience of the saints, here are they that keep the Commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

We are the Remnant Church – “The dragon…went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the Commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” We are the people who have the testimony of Jesus – especially the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, which reveal who the “beast” is, what his “image” is, and even what his “mark” is!

False worship is worship of Rome’s “man of sin” by keeping his commandment to keep Sunday holy, in place of the Sabbath of Jesus, who is the Creator of heaven and earth! People who have rejected the Sabbath truth, from 1844 till now, have instead received the “mark” of the “beast,” – the mark of his power – that he believes that he can change the Commandments of God and that he has done so!

By the history of our Adventist movement, our Bible study method is powerfully supported as Holy Spirit’s prescription for “rightly dividing the Word of God.” Thus, we can proceed to unveil the “beast” and his “image,” his number (666), and his “mark.”

What is his “image?” (MARY)! Her idols are all around us today!

American Protestantism is also becoming “in her likeness” and will use the power of the state to persecute God’s people!

Where is his number found? (His blasphemous name by which he claims to take the place of Jesus Christ on earth!)

“Vicarius filii Dei” – Vicar of the Son of God. (Add together the Latin letters that are numbers.)

What is his “mark?” (It is the Sunday-Sabbath with which he has tried to replace the true Saturday-Sabbath of the Bible!)

Our message includes the fact that the Papacy, now again a world power, is preparing once again to war against “the remnant, who keep the Commandments of God,” and understand the teachings of Jesus that he gave for our time!

That includes His teaching that a death decree will be issued right here in North America, over worship of Mary! Rev.13:15.

That brings our review up to date.

The next part of this seminar on learning your message, is a careful look at the Everlasting Gospel. The First Angel’s message includes the preaching of the Everlasting Gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue and people who dwell on the earth. People, that gospel is not the same as the one preached by all of the churches around us today!

Now, Let us close with prayer.

Our Father God, and Jesus, Son of God, thank you for sending Holy Spirit to enlighten the world. The darkness is dissipating rapidly, as this end time Message spreads world-wide this very day. Please continue to hold back the winds of strife a little longer, that many more may be warned to flee to the Truth for salvation! “Thy Word is Truth!” Jesus proclaimed. Teach us our Message, we pray, in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour! Amen.

Dear Adventist Believer, is a study of the “image” of the “beast,” revealing its double meaning. Take special note of this, for it is going to have more impact in our future.

Dear Adventist Believer:

Many, very many, Adventists have been led to believe that America is the image of the beast spoken of in Revelation 13 verses 14 and 15, and in Revelation 14.

Uriah Smith, in his book “Daniel and the Revelation” p.590, speculated this interpretation. Ellen White also wrote strongly supporting this interpretation.
– here is a sampling:

Letter 11, 1890. Rev.13:14-17 and chapter 14:9-12:

Tested by the image – the Lord has shown me clearly that the image of the beast will be formed before probation closes: for it is to be the great test for the people of God, by which their eternal destiny will be decided. (Rev.13:11-17 quoted) This is the test that the people of God must have before they are sealed. All who proved their loyalty to God by observing His law and refusing to accept a spurious Sabbath, will rank under the banner of the Lord God Jehovah, and will receive the seal of the living God. Those who yield the truth of heavenly origin and accept the Sunday Sabbath will receive the “mark” of the “beast.”

ST March 22, 1910:

When the state shall use its power to enforce the decrees and sustain the institutions of the church – then will Protestant America have formed an image to the papacy and there will be a national apostasy which will end only in national ruin.

G.C. p.449:

…the enforcement of Sunday-keeping in the United States would be an enforcement of the worship of the beast and his image.

Following is the strongest statement that I could find: – same page.

But when Sunday observance shall be enforced by law, whoever shall transgress the Command of God, to obey a precept which has no higher authority than that of Rome, will thereby honor popery above God. He is paying homage to Rome and to the power which enforces the institution ordained by Rome. He is worshiping the beast and his image [which here, is the power which enforces the beast’s mark].

But this interpretation of America as the image of the beast has caused almost all Seventh-day Adventists to fail to recognize the image of MARY as the obvious image of the beast!!

We do well to see that American Protestantism allied with the American government is becoming the very image (likeness) of the beast. This is hidden from the eyes of the people and must be revealed to them. But the obvious meaning of the text is to be understood by all Bible students, world-wide, right up through the New Testament era. Mary, idols of Mary all around us throughout the world, are clearly “the image of the beast”

Further proof is in Daniel 11 verse 38. Regarding the “little horn” power, that is, the Papacy, this verse states, “…a god [note:] a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.” This is Mary, his “image!” This is Mary, whom he has made Mediatrix in place of Jesus. “Holy Mary, mother of God, Pray for us [that our sins be forgiven.]” – the Rosary.

This is Mary, whom, in 1854, he proclaimed was “immaculately conceived!” No SDA noticed? This is Mary, whom he has made a god! This is Mary, his “image!!”

The Protestant Church of England, the High Anglican Church, now already worships Mary. About 1980, pope John Paul II, was received into England (the first pope allowed to visit England that I know of from history) and was taken into Westminster Abbey where he was allowed to speak. Four million people came out to see him! Of but 32 protestors outside the Abbey, the media interviewed Ian Paisley, the Irish Protestant leader. He went right up to the camera, shown in world news, and proclaimed, “What are you doing? This is the ‘beast!!'” By about 1990, Anglican churches here in Canada began to openly worship Mary! I was told so by an Anglican who had left her church because she believed the 10 Commandments and refused to worship another “god!”

Can the rest of Protestantism be far behind? Remember, the leadership of the Protestant churches is joining the “beast” (the eccumenical movement) and the people will be led like sheep to worship as they dictate!

America as the “image of the beast” is not the obvious interpretation of the text.

But the word “image” has two regular meanings in Scripture. Thus both may be correct interpretation.

Follow my reasoning:

Most of the Bible’s use of the word “image” refers to graven images – statuary if you will, usually made of wood and coated with gold or silver, and prayed to, or “worshiped.”

But there is also this: Man was “made in our image.” Genesis 1:26. “And Adam begat a son in his own likeness after his image.” (Seth) Genesis 5:3. There are also several New Testament texts where Jesus is “the express image [likeness] of His [God’s] person.” See Hebrews 1:3. Also, it is understood that the “daughters” of “Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth,” are in the likeness of their mother and are thus the “image” of their mother.

But this type of interpretation is not the obvious way to interpret the text in Revelation 13 and 14. Rev.13 v.15 shows that this figurative meaning should not be the exclusive interpretation.

“He (America) had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause (by it’s speech) that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” It is hard not to apply this to a literal “graven” image or idol.

Further, it is not only in America that such enforcement of worship is implied, but note, v.14, America shall say “to them that dwell on the earth, that they [all of them] should make an image to the beast…” If America is the image of the beast, how can they all be an image of the beast as well?
No, all of this is reference to America enforcing the dogmas of the “beast,”- the Papacy, including the worship of his image – Mary! – world-wide. Even now, some are charging that the Papacy has employed American military might (allied with NATO -Europe’s 8 remaining horns) to enforce worship of the “beast” by warring against the Orthodox Serbs in Kosovo. “The Papacy will not
have Albanian Catholics under the rule of an Orthodox government.” It is in that very country that apparitions of Mary have become famous.

So, I will agree with this figurative interpretation of America as the image (likeness) of the beast, as the text reveals that America will use its legal system “to enforce the decrees and sustain the institutions of the church” [the Catholic church]. By their support of this use of force, the Protestant Daughter churches of Great Babylon are the very image (likeness) of their mother, and are harlots like her!

But the idea of likeness does not obviously fulfil the requirements of the prophecy.

Let’s go a little deeper. What was the great failure of the Jews as the
people of God, so often in their history?

It was worship of the idols, the “images” of the heathen around them. Such worship breaks both the First and Second Commandments of God. Who caused them to fall into such false worship so often? Was it not their government, their king?

If America serves “the king” (Dan.11 v.36) by causing them that dwell on the earth “to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed,” the American government will also cause the people of the earth to make an image of Mary and bow down and pray to and worship it, contrary to the Commandments of God! For both such forms of false worship, God warns the people of the earth that they “shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation!” (Rev.14:10.)

The Creator God alone is worthy of the worship of the inhabitants of earth. “Worship Him that made (Created) heaven and earth.” (Rev.14:7.)

I contend that the obvious meaning of image worship in both Rev. 13 and 14 refers also to actual idols, of which there are plenty in homes throughout the world!

Through the apparitions of Mary, that are proliferating in the world today (past 2000 have been reported in the last century!) these “unclean spirits” (Rev.16:13) have already come out of the mouth of the dragon – Satan, and out of the mouth of the “beast,” and, very soon now, will come out of the mouth of the “false prophet” (American Protestantism). Mary’s apparitions “will go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.” Marian apparitions always enjoin the people to say the Rosary, and pray to her very much, because Judgment from Jesus is coming. “Holy Mary,” they pray to her idol, “pray for us” [that our sins be forgiven] is the emphasized part of the Rosary. Mary is not a god! She is not the Intercessor – the Mediatrix between man and God.

Jesus is the Mediator (or Intercessor) – our Great High Priest in heaven! (I Timothy 2:5)

Beware the image of the beast! America will become the likeness of the beast, in her image, as Seth was in the likeness, after Adam’s image. But what about the rest of the peoples who “dwell on the earth?” They too will develop this “likeness” to the beast. Then, and therefore, I submit that America alone cannot exclusively be the “image of the beast.”

Is the Everlasting Gospel. The first part of the 3 Angel’s Messages that was proclaimed, and is being proclaimed, and will be proclaimed, is the true gospel. A false gospel is being preached in almost all of Christianity, which has been, for centuries, leading God’s people that are in all of these denominations into SIN!! (by keeping Sunday holy?) Find out the Bible’s DEFINITION of sin. Look up the words in a good dictionary.
You will be shocked by this document!

Scripture Text: (read first) Rev. 14:6,7.

Title: The Everlasting Gospel

Have you ever wondered what the gospel really is? Let’s talk about the Everlasting Gospel. Here it is in a nutshell: John 3, verses 16,17. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life: for God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” This is the Everlasting Gospel; the good news of the possibility of being saved from our sins so that we can have the promise of eternal life!

But let’s find out how it works. We cannot be saved in our sins, or while we are still indulging in sin: for, Romans 6:23 states, “The wages of sin is death.”

But the verse continues: it says, “But the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

God sets before you life or death. Eternal life, or eternal death!

But maybe you don’t need saving. Perhaps you’ve been a good person almost all your life. You’ve never killed anyone, or stolen anything, or committed adultery. I’m sure there are many people who believe that of themselves. I did. I wasn’t a bad person! I didn’t think I needed religion to save me!

Then I found out that the Bible says I was fooling myself. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 – “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Paraphrased, you might say here, “All have sinned and come short of the character God requires, character like His character; character like the character of Jesus, who refused to sin.”

Is the Bible wrong? Am I a sinner too? Do I need the salvation Jesus offers? What is sin, anyway? Are there a few sins I don’t know I have been committing? Hey, I want to live forever, don’t you? So let’s get this salvation thing straight, now, together.

Where can I find a Biblical definition of sin?

If I look in the back part of most Bibles, I will find a bit of a Concordance: a tool for finding answers on my own. You see, we can find truth for ourselves! Once you begin to study, you will want a complete Concordance, like Cruden’s Concordance, which you can get quite inexpensively, in paperback, for yourself. It’s just like a dictionary, but with each word it tells you every place that word is found in the Bible, starting at Genesis, up through Revelation, so you can look up places that word is used and find out what God says is truth. Look in your Bible at the back. Let’s find the word “sin” and see if we can notice a probable definition of the word. Here’s one that sounds right on target; – “Sin is the transgression…” You see, a part of the verse is quoted in each instance to help us to separate out the verses we want quickly. So, let’s turn to the 1st Letter of John, chapter 3, v.4, and see it in its context. “…for sin is the transgression of the Law.” What is “transgression?” With such words, get out a good-sized dictionary. Here’s what mine says; “Transgression” – a violation of a law, command, etc; especially a violation of a divine law – sin.” The word transgression comes from the word “transgress” above it on the same page of the dictionary. “Transgress” means “to break a law.” So; what is sin?

Sin is to break the Law of God.

The Ten Commandments never change. Only they are perfect law. They are the moral Law of life! They are written in stone (unchangeable) by God’s own finger! See Exodus 31, verse 18.

If everyone who is redeemed is to live forever, can anyone kill? The wages of sin is death. How about stealing? Does it lead to death too? Yes, even in this life, millions have died as a result of trying to steal. The same for adultery, and even false witness, and covetousness – wanting what another has.

But my mistake in thinking I wasn’t a sinner was the fact that that is not all of the Ten Commandments. There are five more.

How about, “Honor your father and mother?” We have sure failed that one often, haven’t we? How about “Have no other gods before me.” – the First Commandment?

Making self of supreme importance breaks this one. That’s where Eve fell. That’s what we’ve all learned so well that we fail to honor our father and mother.

Or, how about graven images of worship? – the Second Commandment. Have you seen any statues of Mary, that people pray to? Did you know before that God forbids it, on penalty of loss of eternal life? If you pray to any false god, you are really just being deceived by Satan! Mary isn’t a god. She is still in the grave with everybody else. She was a mortal human being, like you and I; and she died and was buried, till the resurrection at the end of time, when Jesus comes back to take His kingdom away from Satan.

How about the Third Commandment? “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” Most people say that means don’t swear or curse using the name of Jesus. I think it means more than that. If we let the sacrificial death of Jesus be in vain – of no effect for saving us from our sins, we will die eternal death for our sins.

HERE IS HOW THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL WORKS.

The Bible says that the sacrificial death of Jesus covers us for all of our past sins – Romans 3:24,25 – “Being justified freely by His GRACE, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.”

By being baptized, we receive this promise. At the same time, the Bible says that the Spirit is given to us to give us power to overcome sin day by day – John 1:12 – “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” Here, read Acts 2:36-39.
But this is a partnership. It only works if you daily, minute by minute, put Jesus on the throne of your mind, and refuse to sin, like Jesus Himself did.

“To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne.” Rev.3:21. This is the good news, that by the Spirit of Jesus in you, you can choose to keep His Commandments, and live the victorious life!

How did Jesus overcome? What do you think? Let’s see it in the record of Scripture. Matthew chapter 4 is about Jesus being directly tempted by Satan in the wilderness after His baptism. How did Jesus overcome? What was His power? “It is Written!”

Complete faith in Bible truth is how to overcome as Jesus overcame!

Can we put the two together? – the power of the Spirit and the power of the Word? Turn to John 6:63. This principle is the secret to overcoming sin. John6, verse 63:

“It is the Spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.”

So, the true Gospel is the power to overcome sin, beginning with forgiveness of all past sin at baptism. “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His angels.” Rev.3, verse 5.

(Re-read above paragraph – we can overcome!)

All have sinned – God says so. All would die eternally as the penalty for sin, if Jesus hadn’t paid the price of death for our redemption. We are bought with a terribly high price and at great risk, for our sakes. We cannot let it be in vain, or we will have to receive the wages of sin; death, eternal death.

But we take His name in vain (calling ourselves Christians) if we continue in sin! If you didn’t know that, or if someone has tried to deceive you into believing you can keep on sinning and still be saved, read Romans chapter 6, right now!

God’s people will keep the Commandments. Jesus says so, not once, but twice, in Revelation, as well as in the Gospels:

“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the Commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Rev.14:12. (Read also John 14:15-18 here.)

“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the Commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ!” Rev. 12:17. (Be sure to read also Mt. 19:16-22 here.)

So: have we covered all of the Ten Commandments? We had better be sure. We don’t want to be deceived into breaking any of them, or, even the sacrifice of Jesus could be insufficient to save us. Let’s check. Turn to Exodus 20 in your King James version of the Bible. The 10 Commandments are found in Exodus, the 20th chapter.

Verse 3 is the First Commandment. “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.”
Verse 4 is the Second Commandment. “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.” Were you ever told in some way by your church that it was all right to pray to Mary, or even to other “saints?” Have you perhaps been deceived regarding graven images?

Verse 7 is the Third Commandment. “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” Were you ever told that you don’t have to keep the Ten Commandments of God to be saved?

Think about it. Will anyone sin in the earth made new? God forbid! Sin is to end and never rise the second time. Can we kill in the earth made new? Of course not! At the very least, someone would die, wouldn’t they? Where would be their eternal life?

Can you just go on sinning, and Jesus will cover for you, on into forever?

That is taking His name in vain, isn’t it. Rebellion against the Law of God, Satan’s sin, cannot be taken into heaven. It was cast out of heaven, with Satan! Sin must be overcome!

Rev.22:14 says, “Blessed are they that do His Commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the City.” Here read Hebrews 10:26-31.

Now: Exodus 20:8, is the Fourth Commandment. Ah! Here’s one we missed!

Let’s read it to verse 10. (read)

I guess everyone knows we should go to church on Sunday and worship God. Prayer in church is powerful worship! But it says “keep the Sabbath day holy:

In it thou shalt not do any work.”

Did anyone in your church tell you to keep the whole day holy unto God, and not do any work? How many of us wash the car, or cut the grass, or shop on Sunday? Is that work? Is that keeping the whole day holy? Have you been breaking this Commandment, ignorant of the fact that it says not to work on the Sabbath?

Why didn’t someone tell you? Eternal life could be lost by being deceived about any of the Ten Commandments! God holds us responsible to personally study His Law. Why? Is He a tyrant?

No. That is the only way to keep you from being deceived on this central issue of salvation!

Now: let’s read it again and look at it carefully. “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.” Why? “For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day, wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.” (made it a holy day.)

Let’s think back to Creation for a moment. According to Genesis 1, there is a reason for the limit of each day: (Not midnight, but rather the setting of the sun ends each 24 hour period, and a new day starts with the dark part of each day.)

You probably know the reason for the limit of each month – it is the phases of the moon, right? But what is the reason for a seven-day cycle, which we call a week? Hm? That goes all the way back to Genesis chapter 1! In the beginning of the world, God Himself set the number of days in a week. Man has had a seven-day week ever since. And God says to keep the seventh day holy. Actually, it is a day He especially blessed, according to what we read in the Commandment. He set a weekly day that He would especially bless men, women, and children who worship Him, who pray to Him for their salvation from sin. That’s why there is special power in prayer in church!

But why does there seem to be so little of that special power of prayer in our churches? Something is far different from the days of the early church. We could sure use some answers to prayer like we read of in the days of the apostles! Could it be because we are so lax in our keeping of God’s Commandments? We’ve been deceived on a few points regarding them, haven’t we?

Anyway, you have been told in some way by your church that the Sabbath is
Sunday, at least, haven’t you?

Now get up and take a look at a regular calendar; a nice big one if you have one.

The days of the week are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
and finally, Saturday, the seventh day of the week.

…What’s wrong? Isn’t that what the calendar shows? Oh! Sunday is not the seventh day of the week, is it?? It can’t be the Sabbath unless it is the seventh day of the week, can it? After all, God Himself set the Sabbath at the end of the week.

Listen…you will find the first day of the week, which we now call Sunday, follows the Sabbath in the account of the resurrection of Jesus in the gospels! (Read Mt.28:1; Mark 16:1,2; and Luke 23:55,56 and 24:1.)

The Jews still go to church (Synagogue) on Saturday, the seventh day!

Saturday is the true Sabbath! What are we doing going to church on the first day of the week, contrary to the COMMANDMENT of God? Are we being deceived on this point also??

Listen. Satan hates God’s Law. Paraphrased, here, in essence, is the first lie he told, that has caused all mankind to fall into sin: “You won’t surely die for disobeying God: You’ll make yourself a god if you just go ahead and break His Commandment!”

You see, if Satan can just get us to keep on breaking God’s Commandments, till it is too late, we will be found to be Satan’s followers, instead of the followers of Jesus! We also will be found to be rebels against the Law of God!

Satan is the one that is worshipped on Sun-day, the pagan day of worship of the sun as the life-giver! God, the Creator, is the life-giver!

Now turn to Second Thessalonians, chapter 2. Read from verse 1 to verse 14 (read). This day this Scripture will be fulfilled in your ears!

The famous “beast” of Revelation 13: 1-9 (read) is this “man of sin.” It is the fallen, Roman, Papal church, which has led the world to worship on Sunday in place of the Sabbath of the Creator!

The “mark”…of the “beast”…is Sun-day worship, the one blatant disregard of God’s right to our worship as our Creator God! In Rev.13:2, the latter part, “the dragon (Satan) gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”

The “beast” of Rev.13 is further revealed to us by another kind of illustration, in Rev.17. God’s church is illustrated by the symbol of a pure woman in Rev. chapter 12. But by Rev. 17, she has fallen, as history shows, after the rise of the Papacy, in 538 A.D. She is called Great Babylon, a mother of harlots! Her daughters are the churches of Protestant Christendom, which have drunk of the wine of her fornication with Satan! The wine is the false doctrines of the “beast” (the Papacy) the greatest of these being the attempt to change the Law of God!

It is foretold in Daniel chapter 7, verses 25 and 26! (read).

The popes took away the Bible from the people and replaced the Bible with the
Catechism. In the Catechism, they removed the Second Commandment, against
images, and have developed worship of their image, Mary! They split the 10th
Commandment into two to make up 10 again! Also in the Catechism, by their own
written boast, they claim to have changed the Sabbath to Sunday!

The “mark” of Papal Rome’s power is her claim to be able to change the very Law of God!

Protestants are receiving her “mark” by accepting the false Sabbath she instituted! All the world is wondering after the “beast,” today! Millions flock to see and listen to her representative, the pope. That “man of sin” is revealed to you this day, from the Word of God!!

Because of this ridiculous worship of the sun, introduced into ancient Babylonian Paganism, by Satan, and sanctified and handed down to us by the Papacy, commanding us to keep Sunday as if it was the Sabbath of the Creator, the greatest warning in the whole New Testament includes the preaching, by the Remnant, of the true Everlasting Gospel! Turn now to Rev.14, verses 6 and 7 (read).

“The hour of His Judgment is come!…worship Him that made heaven and earth and
the sea.” Right there is a reference, by the wording used, to the Fourth Commandment in Exodus 20:

“For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth.”

Now read Revelation 14:8 please. Babylon, that Great city of Rome which sits on seven hills (See Rev .17:9,18) which is code-named Babylon, is responsible for causing all nations to accept the wine of her false doctrines.

She is fallen!

Now read on; Rev. 14:9-11. Here is the warning! (read)

Verse 12 is the antidote to the wine of her fornication!

Reformation history reveals that reformation is still in progress. “Sola Scriptura,” the Bible only, includes returning to keeping all of God’s Commandments. Rev. 18:1-5 reveals that that reform is still in progress! (read)

Come out of her, and out of her daughters, and be a Seventh-day Adventist,
waiting and working toward the Second Advent of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus!

He is warning you not to receive her “mark,” neither in your forehead, which is your thinking, nor in your hand, which is your working, contrary to the Sabbath Commandment!

Friend, Jesus is coming soon now. The hour of His Judgment, revealed in a time prophecy in Daniel 8:14, is already far spent! Will you be on the Lord’s side when He comes??

What should you do? Seek out the Seventh-day Adventist church nearest your home. Study the Bible lessons you can get there. Study to show yourself approved unto God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth for yourself.

Salvation from sin is a very serious thing to consider. Jesus came to save us from sin. Mt. 1:21.  Here is a summary of the steps to salvation in Jesus.

Sin: Bible definition: “Sin is the transgression of the Law.” 1 John 3:4 (Written by the disciple John who also wrote Revelation and the gospel of John).

“The wages of sin is eternal death…… but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus.” Romans 6:23
All of us have sinned, in one way or another, and come short of the character of Jesus. Romans 3:23                                                           We need justification (to be declared just, by the Supreme Judge, because Jesus paid the wages of sin for us, on the cross) by His Grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth as a pro-pity-ation, through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness [in our place] for the forgiveness of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. Romans 3:24, 25  All past sins are washed away by baptism, and we have a clean slate to begin our walk to overcome all sin through Jesus in us.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Finally, “He that says ‘I know Him’ but doesn’t keep His Commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him!” 1 John 2:4  We shall be Judged by the Law. James 2:12  Seek your salvation!

Gospel Supplement, will help you to “obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!” See    2 Thessalonians 1, verse 8. Yes, obedience of the Law of God is central to the gospel, the good news that Jesus came to save us from our sins, not in our sins! Be careful to understand our role in the plan of salvation.

Supplement to “The Everlasting Gospel”

He who has the love of God in his heart has no enmity against the Law of God, but renders willing obedience to all His Commandments, by personal Covenant
(agreement) with God: and this constitutes Christianity. As our example, Jesus Himself kept His Father’s Commandments. John 15:10.

The first four Commandments refer to our love for God, our Creator. Is He our only God? Do we worship any kind of idol? Do we call ourselves Christian in vain, because we cling to sin and therefore will be lost? Do we honor Him by keeping His Sabbath, not that of His arch-enemy in the world?

The rest of the 10 Commandments refer to our choice to love our fellow man.

Do we love our parents enough to honor and obey them? Do we refuse temptation to
murder because of God, or because of the consequences in this world How about stealing from anyone? How do you feel when someone steals from you? Do you consider that, when tempted to steal, and choose rather to not do such a thing to your fellow human being, because God wants you to love them as you love yourself? Adultery destroys the family life of another. Do you refuse to even contemplate that sin? Do you lie, or think to accuse anyone falsely?

Do you covet the possessions, or even the spouse, servants, or home of someone else? He who has supreme love to God will reveal that he chooses to love his fellow man, who belongs to God, both by Creation and redemption.

Love is the fulfilling of the Law: (Romans 13:9, 10) and it is the duty of every child of God to render obedience to His Commandments. See Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14 and James 2:8, 10-12.

The bottom line of Christianity is willing obedience to God and His Law. We say that the Sabbath will be the issue at the end, according to Revelation 14:6-12. It is true that that is the main focus, but the real issue is the validity and perpetuity of God’s Law, of which the Sabbath is a part.

We have reason for ceaseless gratitude to God; that Jesus, by His perfect obedience, has won back the dominion of the earth that Adam lost through disobedience.

Adam sinned (“transgressed” or broke a Commandment – the 1st) and all of the
children of Adam share its consequences – rebelliousness and death; but Jesus bore the guilt of Adam, and, overcame where he had sinned. All of the children of Adam that will come to Christ, the second Adam, may escape the penalty of transgression if they repent, and choose to refuse to sin, any sin, anymore. They can overcome as Jesus overcame! (by the indwelling of the Spirit of Jesus)! “Christ in you, the hope of glory!” (See Rev. 3:20, 21; Colossians 1:27).

How do you feel about Jesus? Do you want to love Jesus, who so loved you that He risked, yes, even felt eternal death for you? Try putting your underdeveloped love for Jesus into action, and you will find that your love for Him will grow! Make your personal Covenant with God in baptism, and you will receive the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38). In your baptism, put Jesus on the throne in your mind (see John 14:15-18). Put self to death, and you will find that you can be obedient to the 10 Commandments, not by your will power, but by applying love for Him, you will receive His Holy Spirit power. John, chapter 1:12 proclaims, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name!”

This concept is important in the extreme. It is God’s amazing solution to our perceived inability to obey the Commandments like Jesus did!

I’m going to tell you a tale about my dear wife to illustrate. She’s not here, so I can tell it without her being embarassed by it.

When we first met, she was a chain-smoker: 2 and 1/2 decks a day, on the average! Could you imagine the cost of that today? Sonjia wanted to meet me, and got my reluctant best friend to finally introduce us. She was, and still is, quite a girl!

Well, we roller-skated together, hand in hand, for one piece of music. She managed to somehow tell me she wanted to date me! During just one piece of music! Like I said, she was quite a girl!

But I was always honest, to the point of being blunt. Here was my answer:

“I don’t date girls who smoke.”
What do you think happened? It took her a year to fully overcome her cigarette habit, but she did it! There were no Five Day Plan to Stop Smoking groups then. There weren’t any nicotine patches either! How could she overcome such a terribly addictive habit? By LOVE! By her growing love, put into action!

Thus God showed me the plan of salvation! Can you overcome sin? all sin? Only by love according to Jesus. “If you love me, keep My Commandments: and I will pray the Father…” What will He pray that the Father do? Give you the gift of Holy Spirit, the One who, as His part in our Triune God’s plan of salvation, can give us the power to overcome, as Jesus Himself overcame (Revelation 3:20, 21).

Jesus loved His Father in heaven. He overcame by love in action obedience through doing Holy Spirit’s will [the Father’s representative in us] not His own will. He did not overcome by His own will power, but because of His love for His Father, He overcame by doing Holy Spirit’s will, instead of His own. He proclaimed, “The Father has not left me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.” (John 8:29)

Jesus was born of a woman: thus He was given our fallen human nature, after 4000 years of devolution! But she conceived by Holy Spirit. He was born, simultaneously if you will, of the Holy Spirit. Jesus refused to sin, by love for His Father, and overcame by the power of Holy Spirit in Him!

You can overcome sin, as He overcame! By love put into action!

Jesus regained eternal life (and heaven) for man by bearing the very tests that Adam failed to endure (see Luke 4:1-13); for He obeyed the Law perfectly throughout His earthly life; and all who have a right conception of the plan of redemption will see that they cannot be saved while in willful transgression of God’s holy precepts. They must cease to transgress the Law (“Sin is the transgression of the Law.” 1 John 3:4) and must lay hold of the promises of God that are available for us through the gift of the Spirit of Christ.

The standard is high, and the reason is justified. God aims to eradicate the world of sin. He wants to fit us to live in the company of holy beings who have never sinned. He intends that sin will not rise up the second time. He wants us to have a hatred for sin – to have enmity against evil. And so, He has made provision to give us His Spirit, that we may become like Him, if we are willing to renounce sin, and keep His Commandments. (See Rev. 12:17; Rev. 14:12).

A MOMENT OF MEDITATION

Father in heaven, we are gathered here in prayer today, knowing your promise that where even two or three are gathered together in prayer, Jesus is in our midst. We lift up our hearts and voices in prayer for our personal salvation from sin and Satan. We pray to You, Jesus, our High Priest in the Sanctuary in heaven, where you are ever before the mercy seat. Please cleanse each of us from all iniquity, by helping us to apply our growing love for You, to our own sin problems! Amen.

What’s Really Going On That Our Planet is Involved In?

Is the planet we are on caught in a Cosmic Conflict that all the universe is watching?

You see a plane behaving erratically, making senseless turns, coming in over a runway as if to land, then taking to the sky again, and you say, “What’s wrong with the pilot?” But would you blame the pilot if you knew that a crazed and desperate
hijacker was holding a gun at the pilot’s head and threatening the life of every passenger aboard?

Could there be a reason for the chaotic behavior of this planet – a reason we ought to understand before we blame the Pilot? Is it possible that this planet has been hijacked and that the hijacker – within limits set by the Creator – is calling the shots?

We can depend on our planet as far as the laws of physics are concerned. We travel the heavens in a precision orbit around the sun. Astronauts can count on this earth’s being right where it was supposed to be when they wanted to come back to earth!

Astronauts returning from the moon saw this earth as a beautiful blue sphere
– washed with clouds and seas and seemingly brilliantly clean.

From that distance – if you didn’t know – you could never guess the trouble it is in!

The minds of men race ahead of their understanding. Scientists split atoms they cannot even see. But the hearts of men remain unchanged. They make fiery bolts of terror that twist and melt and incinerate an entire city in one short moment. Violence in the heart becomes violence in the streets and in the skies. We stagger along, unable to understand:

WHY? WHY? WHY?

We gasp at the wreckage of a tornado and the broken bodies scattered about.

We walk through a hospital corridor and see the faces of the hopeless and helpless. We shed tears over departed loved ones and know that they are no longer with us.

It takes a strong heart not to cry out,
“Is this any way to run a world?

Or is there anybody running it?”

Many a person stands in the darkness, looking up at the starry sky, asking, “If there is a God, why doesn’t He do something? Why doesn’t He put a stop to this nightmare? Is He unconcerned? Doesn’t He care?”

We find it easy to blame God for the world’s heartbreak. But are we misplacing the blame?

God does care! God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to save us from the evil of this world! “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16, 17.

So we turn to the Bible for the answer as we seek to know the Reason Why.

1. Where did the trouble originate? Revelation 12:7.

Answer: “There was war in heaven:”

2. Who were the contestants in the original conflict? Rev.12:7

Answer: “Michael and His angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels.” Many Bible scholars identify Michael as Christ and Satan as the Dragon.

3. By what other names is the dragon known? Rev. 12:9

Answer: “That old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.”

4. What was Satan’s original name before he instigated war against God and Jesus? Isaiah 14:12

Answer: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!”

5. What did Lucifer say in his heart? Isaiah 14:13, 14

Answer: “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds: I will be like the Most High.”

So it was lust for power over the beings of the universe – he actually wanted the throne of Jesus for himself!

6. Where, in heaven, was Lucifer? Ezekiel 28:13 and 14

Answer: “Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth [in the throne room of God, above the “mercy seat” over the Ten Commandment Law of the Universe] and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God: thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.”

7. Did God create a devil?

What did God say to Lucifer? Ezekiel 28:15

Answer: “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”

So God didn’t create a devil at all. He made Lucifer – a perfect, brilliant, shining angel, in one of the highest positions of service to the throne of God. But Lucifer made a devil out of himself. God, by creating all of His subjects with free will, had taken a tremendous risk. Someone, sometime, might choose evil. Lucifer did! But what triggered this response? Did Lucifer just suddenly decide to lust for power? Or was it a gradual thing?

8. What did God point out to Lucifer as the cause of his change?

Ezekiel 28:17

Answer: “Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty. Thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness.”

Pride was the source of his lust for power. He wanted the position of Jesus, the Son of God, and believed he should have it!

9. Evidently Satan didn’t win the war. What happened to him? Rev.12:9

Answer: “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

10. How did Satan react to his removal from heaven? Rev.12:12

Answer: “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

So the theatre of the conflict moved to earth. Our planet became the new battlefield!

War originated not on this earth, but in heaven. It began with pride in the heart of Lucifer – heaven’s highest angel! But God did not immediately destroy him, as well as one third of the angelic host who were deceived into following him. The created beings of the rest of the universe would have misunderstood such an action. God could not adequately explain the deadly nature of evil, its fearful results, to a universe that had never witnessed its effects. They must see it demonstrated in order to understand it. So God had to permit the dreadful experiment, which involves the unfallen beings of the entire universe as well as the entire human race on earth.

Did God have any other options? Yes, He could have re-programmed his subjects to function like robots, with keyed-in specific responses. But He wanted, and always will want, a people who can love Him and who choose His Kingdom over that of Satan. And so, God counted the cost and took the great risk.

Has God stood by and taken no action against the cast-out one? No. Even as Jesus created our world, the God-head knew Satan would deceive human-kind on earth into evil. Calvary lay hidden in the Plans of the God-head. Jesus knew full well the devastation sin would bring to His creation. He also fully comprehended the inevitable sentence – death – that must be placed upon all who join Satan in his war against the Kingdom of God. [Jesus Created only good for man to enjoy – but evil also exists – so it had to be represented in the tree of knowledge of good and evil- but with the most severe warning against partaking of its fruit!]

Therefore, God laid plans to pay that death penalty for all who would reach out and accept the gift from Him. Only the Creator of a fallen world could pay that penalty for every one of His created beings. Jesus, bearing the cross of our salvation, struggled up the hill to Calvary that we might be redeemed to eternal life!

Satan and all of his followers were now doomed. Satan was revealed to be a murderer from the beginning. Yet he refuses to give up his earthbound captives. He wants to destroy them all – in ugly spite against Jesus and God the Father!

Soon there will be a final confrontation. The hijacker (the usurper prince) will be overpowered and destroyed at last. And not a soul in all of the universe will misunderstand!

A MOMENT OF MEDITATION

Heavenly Father, thank You for a new understanding of what is going on.

Please forgive me for blaming You for this world’s trouble and woe. Thank You for letting me know that You do care about us and that Jesus gained the ultimate victory over Satan at the cross of Calvary. Now help me to love You and trust You to finish off the reign of evil on this planet and bring in the Kingdom of my Lord and Saviour Jesus! Even so,
Come, Lord Jesus!
Amen.

The Biblical Flood and The Mechanics of Plate Tectonics

Archaeology has proven almost all of the historical places and stories of the Bible to be true. There remains but two Biblical events not proven. Creation, and the Flood. This paper is regarding the latter.

Let’s begin by clearing up the search for Noah’s Ark. Because of the sheer number of newsworthy events at the time, the real discovery of Noah’s Ark back in the 1980’s was not given the acclaim and the interest it deserved. Ignorant of the discovery, people are still focused on finding the ark on the slopes of Mount Ararat! Following, is the history of the discovery:

In 1960, Life Magazine published an arial photograph of a huge boat-shaped form on the side of a mountain 13.5 km from Mount Ararat.

A young aspiring archaeologist, Ron Wyatt, decided that he would go and research for himself if this could be the remains of Noah’s Ark. He read in the Bible that the Ark ended up “in the mountains of Ararat,” rather than specifically “on Mount Ararat.” Biblically, a range of mountains received the name of the most prominent of them. A case in point, Mount Carmel, in the north of Israel, includes a number of peaks, and we have some difficulty choosing where Elijah brought the whole population of the 10 Tribes of the divided kingdom, to confront the worship of the Pagan god, Baal. Was it right near the Mediterranean Sea, or was it close to Jezreel, where King Ahab lived?

Some distance intervenes.

When Ron Wyatt was able, he went to find this site in Turkey. Once there, he measured the form. It was too great a length!! You can imagine, Noah’s Ark must have been the largest wooden ship ever made. How could this, if it was a ship, actually surpass the length expected for Noah’s Ark? Being a faithful Bible student, Ron studied the possible explanations for the difference. The ship’s length was calculated by the length of the Hebrew cubit [from elbow to tip of the extended hand]. He found the answer quickly: Preconception.

Definition? “An idea or opinion formed or conceived in advance of careful investigation.”

Moses wrote the books that include Genesis during the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. He died at the end of them! Moses was educated in Egypt! He would be familiar only with the Egyptian cubit. The Hebrew cubit came into being much later, when Israel had become a nation.

When calculated by the Egyptian cubit, the ship form was almost exactly the right length: not 450 feet, but 515 feet long! An absolutely enormous wooden ship!

Then he discovered that there was lots of metal holding the original ship together. Ron discovered that Noah was the 10th generation from Adam. The Bible records in Genesis chapter 4, that in the 4th generation from Adam was a man called Tubal-cain,

“an instructor of every artificer in brass [an alloy of tin and copper] and iron!”

Noah’s ship, this ship form on the side of a mountain “in the mountains of Ararat,”
was held together by a great deal of iron, which, when shown up from the surface by X-ray technology, revealed 13 keels, dramatically proving the form to be a ship! Noah’s Ark! Much more proved that to be so, but suffice it to here leave it at that. You can GOOGLE it! Look for the website by Ron Wyatt.

So, we have Noah’s Ark. Now, if possible, we must prove the Flood. The answer came from an odd source in science. Cartography – the art of making maps.

Back in 1915, a man named Wegener – a German geologist, while studying
cartography – noticed that it appeared that South America was an almost perfect fit up against the west side of Africa. He formulated the theory that the two of them were once fully together, even though now, an ocean, the Atlantic, now separates them. He further formulated that North America was also originally a part of Europe. His theory was proven correct when seismic mapping technology developed, and the edges of the Grand Banks [a ledge under the ocean that is the true eastern edge of the continents of South America and North America, and also the western edge of Africa] were mapped. It was found that South America fit to within one percent against Africa! The proven theory of Plate Tectonics [moving huge plates of earth’s crust] followed, and we now know that major earthquakes are the result of subduction, or forcing under, of one plate by another, usually a continental plate [such as North America subducting the Pacific Ocean plate, causing breaks in either one of the plates, resulting in earthquakes].

The question arises, and it impacts the proving of the Flood, how, and why, do these plates move? What force is causing them to move? The very theory of the age of the earth being millions of years is the result of a ridiculous theory called the theory of uniformity. Since North and South America are still moving West at about one centimeter a year, measure the distance across the Atlantic Ocean, multiply by one centimeter a year, and you have millions of years! Real evidence refuted this [again] preconception.

That brings me to the purpose of this document. The prevailing theory today for explaining the movement of these plates, is that there must be currents in the magma that makes up the inside of the sphere we live on, called Earth.

We are on a crust on the outside of the sphere of magma [molten rock, metals etc.] that varies like about one kilometer thick under the ocean, to like as much as twelve kilometers thick on the continents. As is now fully believed, all of the continents were originally together in one piece, called Pangaea, on one side of the sphere [visualize no Atlantic Ocean] and only the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the sphere.

God Himself asks [Job 38:4 to 7], “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding. Who laid the measures thereof, if you know? Or who has stretched the line upon it?”

“Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner stone
thereof, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

Let us consider some of the evidences God has allowed us to discover in these last days, to counter the skepticism of so many whether the Bible is the Word of God or not.

Our world has been found to wobble, now, a mere 3 degrees on its axis. In the
distant past, it must have wobbled a great deal more. Geology has revealed that the flora and fauna in evidence in northern Canada was sub-tropical in the past! Ditto in northern Asia. Ditto in the far southern hemisphere. How could most of the earth be covered with sub-tropical vegetation almost to the poles? Only if the earth wobbled so extensively that as the sun shone upon it every day, a number of times per day [probably] it shone on the far north, then on the middle [the equator] then on the far south, and back again, every day, as the earth wobbled back and forth. It is easy to speculate, on this evidence, that God made the earth that way, which would make it more hospitable to life world-wide. Imagine no winter months here in Canada! I suggest that the world was made, imperfectly balanced, to result in a near perfect climate!

Visualize Pangaea, on one side of the sphere, a crust like up to 12 kilometers thick, opposing like a one-kilometer thick ocean bottom on the other side of the sphere! The sphere would be majorly out of balance. Add to that the fact that the earth spins on its axis [causing day and night] on the surface at the equator rotating at nearly 1000 miles and hour! Do these facts suggest something to you about the cause of the Flood? They certainly do to me. Let me explain.

When I was growing up, technology was not what it is today. Today, if you have a tire out of balance, you put it on a computerized machine that tells you exactly how to add weights to the edge of the wheel that the tire is put on, to balance the tire. You see, a tire is formed from a strip that is put together end to end to make a tire. Where the ends are overlapped makes a heavier spot on the circle that makes a tire. To balance that extra weight, a weight is added to the opposite side, at the wheel edge, to compensate. Back then, when I was young, often, the weight had to be added to the inside of the wheel as well, to keep the wheel from wobbling at speed, which causes a “shimmy” you could feel in the car, that you knew was caused by a wobble.

When you feel an imbalanced tire “bouncing” it is because centrifugal force [from spinning at speed] causes the heavier point [where the ends of the strip of tire overlap] to bulge out. The tire bounces every time that bulge hits the pavement. That spot very quickly wears out, so the problem must be remedied.

When I was a boy, the local service station would take your assembled tire and wheel, when it was imbalanced, and put it on an axle end sticking out horizontally from a base. The wheel was bolted securely to the axle end. The bearing on the axle would allow the heaviest point of the tire to rotate to the bottom, so the service man would simply find a point where the tire would immediately rotate toward the bottom (closest to the floor) and let it rotate back and forth till it stopped at the lowest point. Judging by how fast the tire rotated downward, the service man would guess how heavy a weight was needed, choose one (each one has a spring clip) and hammer it onto the upper edge of the metal wheel, opposite the heaviest point of the tire. He would then rotate the wheel 90 degrees (1/4 turn) and see if it would still rotate on the axle when let go. If it rotated up or down, he would cut a small piece off the lead weight, or add another small weight, till the wheel would no longer rotate because of one point being heavier than another. If the tire wobbled when rotated (the wheel might not be truly straight) a guessed amount of weight would be put on the rim’s other side to compensate. Pretty primitive, but that was OK for 30 miles an hour. Soon, however, we were going 60 miles an hour on highways. Technology developed to improve the amount of perfection needed.

However, big truck tires going 60 miles an hour became a real challenge to
permanently balance. Such large weights were needed, that at speed, centrifugal force would throw off the large weights. The best spring clips couldn’t hold them on. An out of balance tire that had thrown its balance weight off (on an 18-wheeler truck) would not be noticed till it had destroyed the tire! (an all too common loss). We used to see lots of large pieces of such destroyed tires along the highways.

A German scientist came up with the answer – a complicated, but effective answer. Scientists learned that there is an opposite force acting when centrifugal force is happening. This force is called centripetal force.

They found that if they put a metal-filings-weighted gel inside the tire, as soon as the wheel began to turn at speed and centrifugal force began to act, so did centripetal force, and the moveable weighted gel would migrate to the light point on the tire. All they had to do was find the right amount of weighted gel to apply, and the problem was solved. The gel could not escape from the inside of the tire, thus the fix was permanent.

Now, apply what we have learned to a spinning sphere, the world. To help you
visualize the idea, think of a world globe, with an imaginary tire tread around its middle, covering a wide band at the equator. Imagine Pangaea as the heavy point on the circumference (only ocean on the opposite side of the sphere). The sphere is rotating on its axis at 1000 miles per hour. Get the point? The sphere is terribly out of balance!

Unlike the tire, however, nothing can be thrown off the planet because of gravity. Gravity is so strong that the bump that would form was restricted in how great it would bulge at the heavy point. [That may be why continent plates are so thick when mountain chains were formed – like up to 12 kilometers thick, compared to like one kilometer thickness of ocean bottom!]

Since nothing could be thrown off of the sphere, such imbalance would result, not in bounce, like the tire every time the bulge hit the pavement, but in wobble! The worse the imbalance, the worse the wobble! This effect would be accented further by more weight south [or conversely, north] of the equator.

It seems that the axis is set. Also, note that centrifugal force does affect our world’s shape. It is not a perfectly round ball, but is bigger at the equator, where centrifugal force affects it most.

Now. Realize that God made the landmass Pangaea. Therefore, God made the world wobble, in order to provide perfect climate over most of the earth. God sustained the world like this. When He decided to not sustain that imbalanced state, to bring about the Flood, Pangaea broke apart, somewhere close to its middle, and the smaller pieces, unable to fly off the planet, migrated to the side opposite the heavy side of the sphere!! Centripetal force acted to move the parts that could move [North and South America] around the surface of the sphere, to where they would help balance the sphere!

Did they move on the magma? I think not, because of the Bible record.

“The fountains of the great deep were broken up!” Genesis 7, verse 11. I think they moved initially on the water under the earth that allows us to find water almost anywhere by drilling down to it. Water would act as a lubricant for the land to slip upon, and as the continental plates rode upon the ocean bottom, the water between would act even more as a lubricant. As the continents left where they were, the waters, which had been under great pressure from the weight of the landmass above them, would be released like super geysers from everywhere, even up into the stratosphere, adding to the rain of the Flood. Volcanism (forming of volcanoes) would also result, after the weight of a continent moved away, leaving cracks in the earth’s crust that would allow magma to erupt from inside the sphere. This formed mountains all across the forming Atlantic Ocean, that were quenched by the tremendous flow of water (displaced by the moving continents) back into the space behind them, forming the Atlantic Ocean.

The space between North and South America allowed the greatest amount of water flow from the Pacific Ocean ahead of the moving continents. Thus, by this quenching effect, the change of the climate because of the occlusion of the sun by smoke and ash in the stratosphere from volcanism was reduced, although still causing an extensive Ice Age (mainly from the poles toward the equator, instead of world wide, which would have wiped out every living thing, even after the flood). The Bible record teaches that the climate was indeed changed, and, it can be inferred also that the continents slid very fast, only slowing down as they came near the point where they would most balance the new earth. As they slowed, they began to fold the ocean bottom surface in front of them, forming the chains of mountains down the western sides of both North and South America, adding them to the continents and increasing their effect on balancing of the sphere. The famed Burgess Shale, discovered at the summit of a high mountain in Canada’s Rocky Mountains, proved that the mountains were formed from the ocean bottom. The shale was full of fossils from the ocean bottom from before the flood.

Along the highway #1, in Alberta, there is a place where a number of mountains have been sheered off (practically in half) by a glacier, revealing that each mountain was formed by a fold of flat surface. The upper layers of these mountains reveal that great tidal flows laid down each layer. Looking either way from a point about where the middle mountain is, of those sheered off by the glacier, you can see that each layer gets thicker from one direction, then gets thicker from the opposite direction below it.

There is accumulating evidence that the Biblical Flood is an absolute reality. Noah’s Ark is certainly the most important. This paper, explaining the possible cause, physically, of the Flood, may help us to accept the reality of the Flood.
